Pastor Kurt Tomlinson

Pastor Kurt came to SUMC in the middle of a global pandemic, but has found ways to fit into the ministry of SUMC. Kurt and Elaine have been married for 27 years and have 3 Children. Elizabeth is in her second year at the University of Cincinnati (go Bearcats) and is a Mechanical Engineering major. Jim is a senior at Princeton High School, and Anthony is in first grade at Evendale Elementary, part of the Princeton system.
Kurt grew up in Syracuse, NY and was relocated to Dayton, Ohio by General Motors, where Kurt worked at the time as a Tool Engineer.

Kurt and Elaine met in college and married in 1994 and bought a house in Troy, OH, but not for long. After putting it off as long as he could, Kurt and Elaine followed God’s call into ministry and Kurt attended United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio while pastoring a small church (Gordon) northwest of Dayton. After graduation and ordination, Kurt has moved throughout the West Ohio Conference, coming to Sharonville in 2020.

Kurt loves worship, helping people find a deeper connection with Jesus, and leading a church. In his free time, he attends as many NASCAR races as possible (as many as his Sunday job allows), and spends as much time as he can with his family.
